    Hi Everyone,
    We are planning on going to Chitzen Itza while we are staying @ Tempatation. Anyone else planning on going from 4/26-4/30? Any advice from folks that have visited?

    Thanks in advance!
    Michelle/John

    We are thinking about that trip as well...been to Tulum but hear Chitzen Itza is much cooler. We are @ Temptation from the 22nd til the 28th so the 26th maybe an option for us. Did you book the tour yet and if so, through which operator? How long is the ride from the resort to the ruins?

    It's a long day, about 3.5 hours in a bus each way.

    For walking around bring water as you are in the jungle and the humidity is insane. But that aside it's a really cool place.

    DEFINITELY bring lots of water, a hat that blocks the sun, good walking shoes and cool clothes that you don't mind drenching in sweat!!

    We booked a private tour through Victor at the towel hut and it was a great choice. The private tour just keeps the number of people down to 8-12 and means you don't have to go pick people up at other resorts, majorly cuts down on time. I completely recommend it, we had a great time. (David was our guide, super friendly and talkative) We left at 8:30, stopped halfway for a restroom break, spent about 4 hours at Chichen Itza, and then we went to the cenote which was AWESOME. We got to jump off the ledge and swim in such a beautiful place, it made the trip completely worth it. On the way back we stopped for lunch and made it back to the resort by 6. Highly recommend!!

    Thanks for the advice! We haven't booked yet. @ Jane & Dan - Monday 4/26 sounds good. @ JJQuincy - Did you need to book in advance with Victor @ the towel hut, or did you all do it while you were there? We're originally from Houston, TX and think we can take the humidity ;).

    We are there from Apr 25- May 2nd and are interested in a trip to Tulum or Chitzen Itza.
    We could do the 26th and the private tour sounds like the better way to go.

    let us know please

    We booked the day before we went--we originally didn't have enough people to do the private tour, there were only 4 of us, but luck had it that 6 others were waiting for some people to join so it all worked out! We did wait until Thursday which could have been a mistake, it might be better to just tell them you have a couple days you are flexible in case people have signed up for a different day already.
