This being my first trip to Cancun, one of my goals since I was been a kid was to go and visit Chichen Itza. Anybody have any suggestions on what tours to book for it, or how to get there, or even anybody that may be interested in a day trip out? :aktion069:
right at the bottom of this page there are links to the tours it is a long tour,,, best suited if your at the resort for 10 to 14 days,, but if its you goal to go there go for it.
My friend told me it was a crazy long day...you leave at 6 am and dont get home till 10pm...it is like 3 and half hrs away.....when i got told about the hole day being missed i decided not to go...
We went the first time we visited Cancun. It makes for a long day and it was Africa hot when we went. It's cool to say..Been there..done that but Im not interested in going again that's for sure.
Hmm. food for thought. Im leaning towards it for sure. but since it takes so long i dunno.... Almost more worth renting a car and driving up with some peeps. lol
Yeah friends of mine did the tour - I opted to skip that one! It is a crazy long day, because they don't just drive you straight there and straight back - there's stops in between. Did Xel-Ha and I personally think that was worth skipping a day at the pool for!
If you do go go mid week smaller crowds. As Trish said Xel-Ha is nice and close,, it is where they filmed the Movie Blue Lagoon. Bring xtra cash if you want to do the underwater scooters
If its been a goal of yours I say do it. We went in 2009. Yes it is a long tour but I thought it was worth the money. It is an amazing place.
As everyone has said, it's a full day and ridiculously hot. I booked my tour at the hotel the day before. It came with a coach bus, stop at a cenote, stop for a buffet lunch and Chichen Itza with a tour.
