We would like to do a Chichen Itza tour on Monday, April 7th and are thinking about getting a private van thru Trina who takes care of the cancuncare people. Sounds like this trip takes up pretty much the entire day away from the resort but we want to go. It is about a 2-1/2 hour drive each way, plus time to walk around Chichen Itza, plus maybe stopping to swim at a cenote, plus stopping for lunch. That is why it takes most of the day. If anyone else is interested in joining us, let us know and we will email Trina (who sets these things up) to see about getting a private van set up. Here is a quote from an earlier post by Trina "Unlimited number of people can go. We have 10 and 14 passenger vans but if we go over 14 people we'll have 2 vans - a Chichen Itza party convoy. Price goes down the more people we get. 2 people is $176 pp (ouch!) but 6 people would only be $94 pp. 8 people would be $83 pp and 10 would be $76 pp. That is as low as it goes." Plus, I think we could hire a tour guide for $75-$100 and split that. $176pp for just the 2 of us is a bit pricy and we would like to avoid a tour bus or renting a car and thinking it would be fun to go with other people from TTR. So, let us know !!! Thanks, Matt and Amanda.
