We are looking at booking our second visit for March/April 2010 and can see there have been quite a few changes - Name BBG to Temptation Room refurbs Fridge with drinks in room Nice Shoes changed into a restaurant (it was still recovering from Wilma when last there so it wasn't opened then!) Are there any other changes? Do repeat guests get any benefits? (I'm guessing not due to the number of repeaters)
we are returning on 16th april, our 6th visit, not nearly as many as some repeaters on here, as everywhere there have been changes, some good, some not so good, but it is still the same atmosphere which is why we keep returning. the stocked up fridges are great and the rooms improved, we loved the old nice shoes, but the entertainment in the new one is prob better, except the games are not the same, and not so many people tend to stay in there after the shows finish, the beach seemed better last year, but we dont tend to sit on the beach much, as for benefits for repeaters, you used to get a t-shirt, not sure of that now, lol, tex mex where nice shoes used to be is now open for waiter service meals during the day, which is really nice and a change from the buffet ( nice steaks ) and is reservation at night, you will be sure to have a great holiday.
We were asked at reception if we were repeaters....but you get no benefits lol so not sure why they ask.... when it was BBG they used to upgrade you to the silver band and the t-shirt etc but now nothing. They do put all the towels out on the beds in the mornings now though, which I thought was hilarious as you can see people going to the pool on their 1st morning and assume that every bed is taken...I wasn't mean I did point it out that they were still vacant lol. Entertainment in the night is really bad, but you meet fantastic people and make your own fun we had a great time just staying in Paty O's with good friends. Don't miss lingerie casino night though
Thanks for the replies. I'm a bit lost - is Paty'O's the outside bar area between the buffet restaurant and reception? Where is the new Nice Shoes? We like a quiet bedroom so need to know where to ask for! We are looking at goin gout on 29th March so will just miss you coming out on the 16th.
yes paty'Os is that bar, can get very noisey, we have never had to change rooms, until this year, they gave us a suite right above paty' Os, fantastic rom, seperate bathrooms, settee, it was great , but we could'nt sleep, we stay up till the early hours, but people were coming in from the clubs at 4 or 5 in the morning, we lasted 2 nights, lol, then met a great couple that had been in there the night before we got there, and they lasted a night, lol, we were later told that the entertainment manager usually has that room, we moved to further down the beach, with a seaview, was great, not normally in the room much, but when needed to get some sleep, was very quiet. the new nice shoes is past the shop, past the pool room and turn right, it is indoors, but has aircon.
The trouble with the new nice shoes is it's only open about 2 or 3 nights a week and after the stripper show...where they don't really strip or the lingerie casino ...they turn the air con off and everyone leaves....not a patch on the old nice shoes where everyone stayed (even with the really bad music lol). We stayed at TTR for 14 nights from 1st Sept and nice shoes was open for about 4 of those nights...
old nice shoes i remember some great nights in the old nice shoes, with some very entertaining dancers in the cage !!!!!!!!!!
the old nice shoes was so much fun, something every night and the staff stayed to make sure everyone had a great night
they ask so they know if they should send you over for the "Welcome" tour or not. So your only benefit is that you don't get the time share push
Thankfully they've never mentioned the welcome tour to us, it's not worth pushing it on brits as it's a 10 hr flight and we can't just pop over for a few weekends a year.
