with everthing included how much cash should a couple bring for 5 days?

and should it be 1's and 5's for tipping?? im assuming it should be u.s. currency

is there a safe in the room and is it "safe"

Yes, there is a safe in the room. Its free of charge and we have never had any problem with being safe. We just got back 2 weeks ago and we took 250.00 in 1's and 100 in 5's. Had some left , but its nice to be safe

Honestly have never used te safe, i just leave the cash in a pocket of my pants and have never had a problem, i once left over 1000 bucks on the counter in a drunken stuppor and was shocked to find it in the same place after te maid had cleaned the room. As far as tipping goes i think 50 a day is right on the money

I have forgotten to lock the safe many times. Ipad, cash, passports everything still there. Never a problem.
Even had the hotel ask me if I forgot anything once when we were checking out. When I said no they asked me if I was missing a silver bracelet then handed it back to me when I said it was possible as I brought a couple.

    As a general rule:

    Airport Driver $5
    Bellman $2 a bag
    Maid $3 a day
    Breakfast $2
    Lunch $2-3
    Dinner $5 - $10
    Pool tips $5-10
    Paty'Os tips $5-10

Sometimes more depending on the level of service. We handed out a few $20 bills at the end of our trip for those folks who made the effort all week to accommodate our requests.

Agree. The safe is easy to use and if you forget, our experience was that was "safe" too. We left money absolutely everywhere to the point where I didn't find it all until we got home. It was an Easter egg hunt really! But we came home with more than I expected so that tells me we either took too much or didn't tip enough. But for sure the maid did not take it!!
