I know its been discussed a while back about how much cash to take but for clarification's sake, I'm throwing this out again. 1 - First time at TTR and first time to Mexico for that matter 2- Will want to tip appropriately every day 3 - Going on Boobs Cruise - tips, souvenirs..etc 4- Will want to buy some fun things to take back home Am I missing anything we may want to use money for? We read you can use your 'visa' anywhere for purchases etc and that may be the safest way to spend your money. I read there are also ATM's available. Thinking of a bout $300 cash (small bills of course with mainly ones) and a credit card....yes, no, maybe? Gracias! Scott and Laura
Don't use the atm in the hotel. There's an atm in the convience store next to the resort on the east side. Reasonable exchange rate and spits out US$ and Pesos.
Tip: just let your bank and credit card company know you will be away in Cancun so they do not put a stop on you using your Bank card or credit cards while you are there.
We usually bring 1k, and 100 singles for tips. Sometimes we come home with lots, sometimes nothing... Never know when you have to pay off a dirty cop.
+1 never know how much your going to spend but its easier to come home with money that to get money while away
Usually 700 that's 350 each and never have needed more......we don't use our credit card at all......except at the front desk as requested.......... Have fun.......!
You will use more than you think, and I think you are a little short. You can split it up between you so your risk of loss is minimal. Avoid the ATM and fees if you can. We usually bring around $150 per day, and hope to bring some home. I bring a lot of $5s, and don't worry about tipping as often.
We are travelling to TTR from the UK - Do we need to take just pesos or dollars too? and what amount would you suggest? We are only there for 1 week and would like to tip andf also go on the Boobs Cruise (Does this need paying in pesos or dollars?)
