I went to Mercado 23 this morning to buy some Tamales (a neighbor brought me there because he told me that they make the best Tamales).
Anyway, they were there in a typical makeshift "stand" with a line of about 15 people. My neighbor was right, the tamales were great. However, I saw a lot of people eating them stuffed inside of a "bolillo" so I had to try one. After one "torta" at 8am, I did not need to eat again until about 4. Just think, a tamal is made out of Corn Masa, inside of a fresh roll (100% flour) and to drink...Champurrada (which is also made from Masa - and delicious too). So it was not a very carb friendly day, but it sure tasted good, not to mention a very cheap breakfast.
