A couple of months ago I found out from my dr that I can't drink alcohol for health purposes. Unfortunately this is not dr advice I can put off or ignore. My trip to TTR is already booked and since all everyone does is drink, something I had planned on doing when I booked the trip, will I be the social pariah? I still love to have fun but don't want to be treated as the outcast b/c I'm the only one not drinking. Has anyone ever been in this situation before and/or encountered someone who couldn't drink? How did you or they handle the situation? Obviously I won't play drinking games! Lol!

Get yourself a Bubba cup and keep grinnin'. Noone will know what your drinking or think twice about. If this is something that's going to be permanent, what better place to get acquainted with your new lifestyle:)

My wife never had a sip of alcohol the whole time we were there. Nobody knows you and nobody gives a shit. If you are truly self conscious about it, then the idea above is a great one. I just truly wouldn't worry about it.

We are heading for our 6th trip in 3 years this October, my wife has never had a drink in her life. No objections to drinking or others drinking, just hates the taste of any liquor. That being said, all that know my wife will attest that you don't need a drink to party and have the best time of your life... It's all about ATTITUDE. If you are a fun loving person that naturally loves to have a good time you will be fine. Regarding needing the "liquid courage" to let loose, that courage is already inside you, remember the Motto and Party like your on the best vacation of your life....little hint... you are!!!:mnm:

You can still have a great time...........I have had days where I didn't feel well and didn't drink and still had a blast. Your worrying too much about nothing, most people would not even notice and if it's for health reasons then I hope you continue to listen to your doctor. Do what I do alot after too much drinking, water shots. Great way to get people talking when they figure out that they just had a water shot and not a sambuca.

I didnt drink over half of my trip and when I did it was hardly nothing. I'm just not a big drinker and dont feel well when I do drink.. However no one could really tell I wasnt drinking everyone just assumes if you have something in your hand that there's alcohol in it.. I still had a great time and danced like crazy lol just have fun!

Just say, "Can't drink. Doc's orders, seriously. I can feel up your/your wife's boobs though!" It'll take care of it.

    Would with us, anyway.

Being sober has it's perks, you will see the real fun In people watching, I drink, but because of coumadin I need to be careful as both alcohol and Coumadin thin the blood........I have a lot of fun without much if any alcohol....so go do not worry, even order great tropical drinks virgin.......I drink club soda with fruit in the bottom of the class.....
