Hi! We are totally new to Cancun - and the "Temptation" place looks very enticing and exciting! I'm wondering the following: 1) WHO to book through 2) NONstop or CONNECTING flights (that's probably a dumb question) 3) Is all inclusive REALLY all inclusive ? 4) We are planning February 20 - 27 or 24 - 28 (not sure 5 day or 7 day) will it be MEGA hot then? (HOPEFULLY) 5) Some group members want the 'hotel zone' (which is where Temptation is I believe? Are the beaches NICE? Or would it be worth it staying 'elsewhere' (like remote places like Moon palace or whatever? 6) ANY SUGGESTIONS/TIPS SO WELCOME !!! THANK YOU !!
OK I'll take the first stab at this: 1) I'm passing on this one because I'm a member & don't search for booking deals like others 2) Non stop flights are faster & generally more expensive. Connecting flights you will deal with layovers(sometimes lengthy) & are generally cheaper 3) Food, drinks, rooms, non-motorized watersports, & fun are all included. Any excursions, night clubs, tours, gifts & tips are not. 4) The last week of Feb is ONE of the best weeks to go. I'm not going to get in a pissing match as to which week is the best. They are all great, this just happens to be a popular week with a bunch of us repeaters so I know what happens  The weather is almost always 85 & sunny that time of year 5) The beach @ TTR is OK. Not fantastic but not terrible. You go to Temptations for the staff, the people, & the tremendous fun Check out the posts here to get a better feel. I'm sure others will add to this Scott
Thanks for your input I greatly appreciate it! And looking for much more input if there's more out there willing to help a NEWBIE out !! THANK YOU !
Make sure you check out the "Temptations Hotel deals in partnership with Cancuncare" link at the top of this page. Funjet has very good prices. Access them through this site. In regards to staying in the hotel zone... read the thread "Thank you to all" It may help you make a decision. If your group wants a quiet 5 star hotel, then Temptations may not be for you. If you want to have a lot of fun and meet great people.... book TTR today.
LOL maybe I shoulda been a lot more specific - we are CRAZY wanting to have fun ! (i.e., we are up for ANYTHING) ... So I'm thinking Temptation is pretty good ??? I will definitely look at those links and threads! Thanks so much! Any more input gladly welcomed too !
If you want CRAZY FUN YES Temptations is the way to go! There IS a beach. It isnt horrible but it isnt great either (any beach IMO is better then the snow that will surely be piled here in MN at that time of year!) The problem with the beach (IMO) is you can hear the antics at the sexy pool...and then you want to see what is going on up there! We start out on the beach many days and end up at the sexy pool a very short while later! We do like the ocean better than along the main drag as you can actually get into the water and swim because there arent as many waves.
I am going to throw my 2 cents in here. I booked my last trip through Orbitz because I found a $200 off a 7 night stay in Mexico coupon which made the trip really cheap. I prefer non stop and will pay a little extra for it. I don't want to loose half or more of a vacation day on layovers. You have to have a long enough layover to give yourself time to go through customs at your port of entry, recheck you baggage and wait on your connecting flight. On the beach subject, the beach is about 10 times better than it was a year ago and about twice the size it used to be. They have put a lot of work in to it. The only real problem is the seaweed but the staff cleans up what washes on to the shore a couple of times a day.
If your not going till February...calm down and do some looking around. Cancun is not going away and it wont fill up. We never book more than 5 weeks in advance. Some times 2 weeks. That is when you find the best deals. We were all first timers once, but this is not the time to panic yet. Just my opinion.
1. Check your PM's. 2. Where are you flying in from? I prefer non-stop flights 'cause I don't like dealing with the hassle of switching flights. 3. As others have said, meals and drinks are included. 4. Our first trip there was around that time. Awesome weather. 5. It's a beach...
