Cancun has moved to the Green Traffic Light from Yellow meaning fewer restrictions and higher capacities.

Additionally, during September there were 1.6 Million tourists arriving which is ctaully 4.4% on Sepember 2019 (pre pandemic)

Great Steve! Does that mean that nightclubs are allowed to stay open longer than 11pm?
We arrive next Thursday for a 3 weeks trip to TTR and might wish to go one night to Mandala or another nightclub in the Zona hotelera.

I'm, not 100% sure on that but I think so.

The new rules say that nightclubs can open to a capacity of 50%. Previously, they weren't allowed to open at all.

The clubs got round that by 'rebranding' as restaurants i.e. they added a food menu. However, restaurants had to close at 11pm, so they had to too.

Restaurants can now go to 80% and I suspect the 11pm limit will be relaxed, so I guess the clubs will rebrand back as clubs and go until their usual time :)

We will have to see how it plays out when it takes effect next Monday.

I'm not sure it does much. It's a little quieter now than previous months so the current numbers haven't challenged our restricted capacities too much.

In busier months. we've always gone over what we're allowed to have by about 20%

I guess it just means we'll get in less trouble if caught :)
