I am traveling to Cancun 5/15 - 5/22 with my Dad. We are staying at The Royal Cancun® (Club Internacional de Cancun) because my dad could trade his timeshare there. We both like to hang out have drinks and party down some but probably not club scenes. I'm just trying to find out what we should do while we are there, should we venture out or just plan on sticking around the hotels at night? We plan on doing some excursions maybe to Chichen Itaz and possibly a zipline tour maybe some offroading. Of course I have seen all the media about the violence just like everyone else here probably has but is it anything to worry about. I don't see us going into bad parts of town so I'm sure everything will be just fine just wanted to get some advice from others that have traveled to Cancun recently or will be in the next few months. Since you are staying at a Royal Resort property, you will be able to access the free shuttle which will take you to the other Royal Resort properties in Cancun. For daytime partying, The Royal Sands - Phase 1 has the most party atmosphere of all the Royals in Cancun. Happy Hour starts at 3:00, so drinks are 1/2 price. We'll be there that week too.
thanks Kathybill1242, maybe we will bump into you around happy hour because I'm sure we will be doing happyhour everyday besides the tour days. How long does happy hour last and what the average prices of the drinks (beer and mix drinks?)
