Hi Guys, Loving the forum some great information here. Me and my girlfriend are heading over to Cancun on the 2nd July for two weeks. We are definitely going but have not booked anything as yet because we are still tryin to decide on hotels and best deals etc, flights alone from Ireland are almost 1000euros. We can get a pretty good deal through a travel agent to stay at the Caribe Park Royal Grand . But i am also comfortable booking flights / hotels myself, done this is Thailand last year and a few other places without any problems. just wondering whether any of you seasoned guys have any info or would recommend we avoid or book this place, reviews I've seen all seem pretty positive? We are both mid 20s, we both like a drink and to party at night but i have a pretty stressful job at home with very few holidays so also need a place I can chill out some. Also wanted peoples opinions on whether we should stay in Cancun for the two weeks or move about, maybe down to Playa for a few days? I've heard mixed things about Playa, am thinking maybe there might not be enough going on to hold my interest.. Last question :wink3: I know that forecasts are to be pretty much ignored etc, and there is generally not too much rain in July, but risk of storms etc, but my question is; when its not raining, is it sunny? Or is it overcast? I can take or leave the Sun to be honest with my pasty white skin :wink3: but the gf loves it! Any info would be much appreciated, looking forward to getting over there! Thanks, Junior
Hello From Central Canada... If it's nightlife and steady drinking you two are looking for, I'd say try Temptations Spa/Resort in Cancuns Hotel strip just 20 mins out of downtown Cancun. Lots of action for those who like to stay up late dancing/drinking inside the resort and is only a 20 min drive from the bar district of Cancun. Temptations has a bit for everyone, quiet pool, sport pool and wild sexy pool on thier grounds to cover just about every visitors needs. Prices for the adult only (21 or over) Temptations is one of the lowest for this style of hotel, which is a plus. Hope this helps. Isku
You sound like you kind of know what you want already. If you do then just go for it! Whatever property you choose you'll have a great time! Cancun is the "party" capitol of the Yucatan. Playa Del Carmen is its more mature little brother/sister to the south. It really depends on what you're looking for.
