We will be traveling to Tempations for the first time in June. This is also our first time in Cancun. Does anyone have any concerns, considering the recent crime/travel alerts? Any advice?
No. Just be careful like you would back home. I would even go in town do shopping if I had too. Just don't go where you are not suppose to. Ottawa are at 24th gun shot yesterday since january. If you decide to stay at the resort I would not even have a concern with that.
I dont think you will really find anybody that says they are holding off on going for any reasons related to safety/security on here. Similar questions have been asked a few times with numerous responses provided to rest the nerves of the people asking. Not sure if you have noticed the "sticky" threads for roll calls each month on the top of the forum but if you click in those you will find hundreds of people that have booked and are going with no concerns. Also, for this and any question you think might be fairly obvious you can search the forum for any previois questions regarding that same topic. Not to discourage you from posting and asking, since thats what this site is all about and its the best way to get to know people. But it is there as a good resource.
No more concerns than I have at home. I don't deal with shady people here and keep my butt out of areas that are known has high crime areas, so I do the same there. After all the facts have come out, most of the recent incidents have been blown out of proportion.
not at all. if Good Morning America, The Today Show or Fox and Friends (etc etc etc) is talking about a subject it is a near 100% certainty the actual problem has nothing to do with the presented issue.
Did a spring break cruise with 2 — 15 year olds to Cozumel and Pressgo— did see any problems even with a 1 1/2 bus ride into the interior for a cave snorkeling activity. This was during the day time. This is from a retired 43 years service police supervisor. No signs of gang or criminal activity!!
WE HAVE BEEN TO CANCUN 30 TIMES MET 10000 PEOPLE ONLY 1 STORY OF A PROBLEM OFF THE RESORT AND IS WAS WITH THE POLICE ARREST FOR NO REASON $2500 LATER HE WAS ABLE TO GO BACK TO RESORT.
Don't stiff your drug dealer! Don't hit on the locals wife! Or his daughter!! Take the Mexico sucks stickers off your suit cases! Don't get shitfaced drunk downtown and start a fight with the locals! And most of all, DON'T WORRY
Homicide rates have doubled because El Chappo was taken into custody and now everyone is trying for that top dog spot.....almost everything has to do with drugs!....But the reality is, it is still safer than Chicago, Miami, New Orleans, Baltimore and many other major cities in the US.....We just get USA Transfer and they take us to the Resort and then when we are done, we head on back to the airport so we never have a concern....I don't think you have anything to be worried about...just another day at the beach...
