They're past the Ritz Carlton, working on Playa Ballenas running south. The beach is very wide and is beginning to look like the pre-Wilma beach. The contrast with some of the beaches north of Punta Cancun is startling. While certain areas like Casa Maya actually benefitted from the storm redistribution patterns and got bigger, others, like Playa Tortuga, suffered, and continue to suffer. I wonder why the decision was made to stop at Punta Cancun. When you look north to towards the Riu, you can see how thin the beaches are. Playa Ballenas Playa Tortugas looking North, has not been recovered. Playa Tortugas Looking South and also unrecovered. The beaches north of Punta Cancun are still "thin".
