Hi there, My boyfriend and i want to do something special this new year (we are from the UK) I really fancy cancun but there doesnt seem to be many flights available and the ones that are are really expensive!! Does anyone have any advice on going to Cancun at this time of year??? many thanks claire
If you can wait, as long as possible before booking. We flew back to Cancun in June and paid just 200 each when booking 5 days in advance. I use these sites to check fares from: http://www.globalholidays.co.uk/charter-flights.htm http://www.instantholidays.co.uk/ http://www.thomsonfly.com/en/index.html If it's possible, leave it until a week or two before then you may find some good deals. That said, Christmas/New Year is an expensive time and Jan is high season in Cancun. If you wanted to go in November for example the prices would be rock bottom.
Steve's right..and in addition to high airfare and resort prices, many of the big clubs charge over $100 to get into on NYE. Many fo the resturants also raise their prices that time of year. So you can expect the whole trip to be more expensive than if you picked another time of year.
