Ive been reading about customs changes in the Cancun airport to move things along faster. Did they do away with the red/green light? Do they even check you anymore? Kinda crazy if they dont even search carry on bags anymore. You'd think with everything that been going on they would?
Last time we were there they were not doing the red light green light button but because we arrived early and there weren’t that many people in the airport, we got chosen to have our luggage’s checked. And boy was it fun to see the female airport worker go through my kinky shit lol we were both cracking up and the girl ended up regretting it We leave to TTR tomorrow so hopefully this time we don’t get randomly chosen.
I know it was planned to halt the green/red light thing but I haven't flown internationally this year, so cant be sure myself. I'm curious what you mean by "with everything going on" though?
I depends on what terminal you fly into. The new terminal doesn't have the red light/green light button but they do random checks. As of Nov. the old terminal sill had the red light/green light button and for the first time in all my trips I got the red light. Just like @California Couple the girl seemed quite, shall I say, surprised by what she was pulling out of my suitcase. It took all of 5 mins. and I was on my way.
We noted the same thing as avballguy, when we flew into the new terminal in June, no lights but they do pull random people over for bag checks. As an aside, we were in one of the first flights of the day, and the area was empty when the first of the passengers arrived, the custom agents then proceeded to pull out the first 10 or so passengers to inspect. I was a lucky one and had Mrs. Shiners bag. It was opened and all her toys etc were right on top, the agent looked up at me and asked where we staying. I replied Temptation and Desire. She smiled closed the bag and told us to enjoys ourselves. Quickest inspection ever!. SF
because I always travel alone. and in my passport, I say that I travel to the Middle East and Africa and Mexico. Then I'll always be checked.
Cigarettes..wow Interesting. The laws have changed quite a bit over the last few months. Being that we're from WA, CBD/THC Pens are legal here. Im, curious what the protocol is in Cancun.
