I know this is completely off topic and Steve can delete as soon as I get an answer, but I know my friends here would have a great answer. I am traveling to Quebec during Canada Day and 4th of July. Do you participate in your Canada Day Celebration with Fireworks? My daughter wants to do "sparklers" for both days and I am not sure if it is appropriate. I'm always respectful of both of our countries when I visit. Thanks in advance
Absolutely celebrate with sparklers! There will be many fireworks displays through the the country. Enjoy and have a great time!
There are fireworks almost everywhere. Some hotter spots then others but you'll be able to see festivities in all the big centers. If you're in Montreal, go downtown at the old port near the river. It's all easily accessible, free and there are activities all day. Fireworks at 10 pm . If in Quebec city, it's at the Plaines d'Abraham and the same, easy access, free and all kinds of activities. Fireworks at the far end near Terrasse Grey at 10 pm. If you want more details or different cities, let me know
thoughtful of you to ask. We think sparklers are fun for the kiddos all year 'round! Our kids and grandkids love them (birthdays, public holidays, cottaging or camping). Enjoy and douse them in water when done... they stay child and fire hazard hot for awhile as you'd already know. Other tips you might want to consider when visiting include (tongue in cheek here...) familiarizing yourself with loonies and toonies, 'zed' versus 'zee', the metric system, poutine, two-fours, twenty-sixers, avoiding the word 'sophomore' and throwing in the letter 'u' when spelling words like honour, colour, valour and neighbour
Aaah, thank you kindly for the "tips" my first trip I hand my cellphone in my hand in the truck as a passenger and I was kindly advised by another motorist next to us that I could get fined for using the cellphone. I politely nodded and we moved on!! Hehe We have taken our boat up to a fishing Lodge in the Kipawa area for the past few years Happy Canada Day All!!
Oh yeah, a true fisherman...way out Temiscaming! Didn't realize how close you were from us. Might not get to see too many fireworks down that bush! And you might want to be extra careful with anything with fire in it...think there are fire bans in a lot of places because of dry weather. Thanks, hope you guys have fun
Thanks so much for the heads up, i think we will celebrate around the campfire if given the OK Another question, I believe we plan to get them when we cross the border to prevent issues there.. So I'm thinking any store should have some correct?
Depending where you cross, and through where you drive, a lot of First Nation stores have them. If you happen to drive by Valleyfield near Montreal, right on hwy 20 is BEM Fireworks. Otherwise, since I doubt you'll want to get stuck in a town anywhere, you'll surely find little family packs almost everywhere.
If you are in Temiskaming which is near North Bay there are lots of first nation stores on Hwy17 west of North bay only a couple of miles outside North Bay that sell fireworks . I travel Hwy 17 in that area regularly and see them all the time .
