Hi everyone sorry it has taken me so long to sit down and write up my report from the latest trip. Needless to say I have been busy since I got back! First a bit of Field work about 3 hours from home in a little town in British Columbia followed by a trip to Saskatchewan on the weekend to watch my Saskatchewan Roughriders play their first playoff game, worth it but the 7 hour drive home after the game made me tired!

But for the trip, I left Calgary at about 2pm local time on the 30th, using Sunwing Airlines. We left on time and if you happen to see a picture of a fuzzy fat dude on the internet from the full body scan well that was me. Really the guy who put up that fuss about them the other day is a drama queen. The flight was ok, and even the meal was decent. I arrived about 30 minutes early and was able to get through customs in about 20 mintues! Off to the resort!

On arriving I got checked in really quickly. I had tried the advance check in, but I don't think it makes too much of a difference. They did give me a floor level room near the sexy pool but it looked out on to the back of the Marina building. Since I have been here many times and really don't care too much to be frank I didn't bother trying to move. I had a quick shower and changed and off to Paty O's it was.

Once I got there I was able to get together with so many people from the sight. Some I had met on previous trips and some for the first time! Moverbob, Ken and Joyce, Doug and Val, Charmer Girl... The list goes on and on. Needless to say it was quickly determined that I was nowhere close to being drunk enough to party with them. Therefore cervesa's and copious dark rum and cokes made it into my stomach over the next few hours. Even a Jag-bomb... although I will say that the do taste better chilled! I was given a glow in the dark braclet and soon felt like I had been there for much more than a couple of hours! To end the day I had my customary cheeseburger and fries.

On Halloween morning I shook off the effects of the booze and decided it was time to hit the pool. I brought out the first of my costumes for the trip. As a public service I dressed up as a breathalyzer. For a humid climate and on a warm day this costume was relatively comfy and more than once I had a gorgeous woman testing her sobriety. If only I could get a woman to put her lips down there that often without a foam costume on... Or perhaps I should wear that all the time? This was the day of the only casualty of my trip. I lost my camera, I checked at the desk several times but sadly it is gone. But it's better to have lost it on the first day than later.

Also I just wanted to say that I am a lifelong fan of the alcoholic whipped cream. That needs to be on the list of great inventions for 2010!

That night I wore my joker costume. Combined with drinking through the day putting on a long shirt and pore clogging makeup wore me out about midnight. When Nuttyrat showed up and we had a few donkey shots the week picked up again!

I am proud to say that I am now a 2 time winner of the title of Mr. Temptation. Just remember that you don't have to be Mr. Universe to win. Last time I checked I tilt the scales just short of 300 lbs. It's all about your personality! That night (Monday) as a result I got to go to Coco-Bongo courtesy of the hotel... Sure us men don't get all the perks the Miss Temptation does but I have no problem going to the bar on them!

Truthfully the next few days all fell into the same general pattern, drink like a fish sleep well and repeat. My biggest drinking night was when I accompanied a couple of gorgeous ladies to Congo downtown on Wednesday. I remember waking up Thursday, the room spinning a little bit and realizing I was still drunk. I decided to chill out for the most part after that, read a book and enjoyed not being tethered to my desk. For shopping I took a trip to Walmart and then Market 28.

At the end of the day here are some of my observations:
-Chinos: Still the best at what he does.
-Oliver, Tigre, Pablo, Armando, Johnny, etc, etc, etc. All of the bartenders, I truly am in awe that they can be so forward and entertaining all of the time! great jobs as always.
-The newer girls on the entertainments staff: Nice girls and I am sure they are finding their way into their comfort zones.
Jose: has found his way into being Chinos sidekick most days and not on the beach as much as he was in the past. I am sure we will see him on the mic for games etc over the next few months.
Food: Awesome as always. The beef in the Tex-Mex is getting better each time!

I also said I would check prices and exchange rates: At the hotel you get a bad exchange rate on the American dollar and yes, the ATM will give you American money but this is after it converts from Pesos to American and then the usual independent ATM robbery fee. The staff still prefer to take American for the bar nights, but don't worry they will give you a Peso price as well. If you want a laugh the hotel was offering 11.6 pesos to the USD and 9.0 for the Canadian dollar. Which is odd since the Canadian and USD are virtually identically valued now.

At Coco Bongo I noticed prices were posted only in pesos and a sign was up for an American/Canadian/British exchange. These were all close to market rates, but you would save a few pennies when walking in by using pesos.

For new travellers eat lots, drink lots and leave your inhibitions at the airport. They will be there when you come home.

See you all soon and it was a great trip yet again!

Just think of all the time you have since you don't have to worry about how the Lions are going to do this weekend! :xyxthumbs:

It was a good game though I got a chance to go watch it in person. A real nail biter!

Thanks for the great trip report! Were there quite a few singles there for what has historically been singles week? Good to hear that you had a great trip(again)! It kinda made me a little "homesick" since I usually go then! Hopefully Nuttyrat will put the pictures up... I'd love to see the costumes!
    So when's your next trip!:xyxthumbs:
