Is it illegal or just frowned upon now? I had a trip to the Caribbean planned for early May and that island is closed now. Trying to figure out if I can just go to Cancun or Cabo in late April instead.
Certainly not illegal. Frowned upon? - Depends who you ask. Pretty much all countries have a travel advisory that you shouldn't fly, but they are advisories not mandatory. However, the ability to actually do so depends on where you live. UK and Canada have no flights coming in at all, the US still has a few. If you were to arrive at the moment then very few hotels are open, and no bars or clubs. Beaches and attractions are closed, main roads are either blocked or have Police checkpoints. I'm not sure what you'd find to do if you were to come. May 1st is the date that restrictions may be relaxed, but that is 4 weeks away so no way of predicting what will happen that far out. Above relates to Cancun, not sure of the situation in Cabo but likely similar.
