Never happened to us, but we have been there when it has happened to others. Usually you get moved to their sister resort and the next day they find you a room at TTR.
SOOOO PISSED if it were to ever happen to us.
Not sure there is anything you can do about it.

    Overbooking

A lot of people get there on Saturdays and a lot of people leave on Sundays. Because of that, Saturdays may be overbooked and late comers will be put up at Blue Bay and brought back on Sunday after a lot of guests leave.

Arriving early should reduce your chances of getting bumped. After occupancy being so low during much of 2009, I can't say as I blame Original Resorts for turning down any reservation. Aside from what I just said, by tomorrow at 3 pm, I will either have a room at TTR or be heading for the Cancun jail.

We were there last year for 7 days and on the 5th day they asked us if we wanted to move over to Desire as they were over booked. but it wasnt a .. you have to move we are over booked... they slipped a note under our door and if you wanted to take the upgrade you could... and many couples did...

On a couple of our trips they told us that they were overbooked and were going to move us to a hotel a couple down from TTR (not Blue Bay club). We said no and they didn't. however, someone was going to be moved. Good luck!

Last year they offered to upgrade us and another couple to Desire. Topless, good...full naked, might be over the top for the wives.....so we politely declined and took a king size room with an air conditioner view. The time we spend in the room isn't usually for the scenery anyway...as long as channel 12 is clear...lol

We were just there and heard from several different sources they were overbooked--recession seems to be letting up....
