Just thought that I would let everyone know that buy.com has a waterproof digital camera for just $99. We love having a waterproof camera and not having to worry about getting it wet around the pool. Went ahead and snagged one of these to replace our old Pentax W30 Polaroid t833 Waterproof Point & Shoot Digital Camera - CTA-00833W - Buy.com
hey M-n-K, let me know how well that camera works for u...i have been looking at waterproof cameras, but this is by far the cheapest price i have seen for one. it seems like in most of the reviews of the ones i checked out there was always a few people that had problems with the camera leaking at some pt and then not working. would hate to spend several hundred dallors on something that is gonna leak eventually...so really interested if u have any problems with it...i will not be going to TTR until oct,so i still have plenty of time to decide which camera to get...any insight would be really great....and have a great time i know u will....charlene
We paid $220 for out old water proof camera and it lasted about 2 years before it started leaking a little water. Still works but the lens fogs up on us now. If you are willing to spend more money I would suggest buying one that is waterproof and shockproof. For me $99 is fine if I can get a couple years use out of it since technology is always advancing there will always be something new i want
I got an Panasonic Lumix! Waterproof n shockproof!! $300 well worth it! Ho n thanks to the person who bring it back to the resort lobby last week! So appreciated!!!!
I've had a Canon A-95 for several years. It only has 5 megapixels, but for our purposes, that's plenty. I've taken it with us on several trips to Mexico and various Caribbean islands and it's not unusual for me to take 700+ pictures during a week-long vacation (or about 100 shots/day). A few years back I purchased a waterproof case from Canon that's custom made for the A-95 which lets me do everything underwater except change the batteries. I think the case cost around $160. With the camera in the waterproof housing, I've taken it on all my scuba dives over the past 5 or 6 years, sometimes to depths of around 100 feet (I've probably taken two or three thousand underwater photos and a few dive videos with it). Alas, the camera itself has started exhibiting some "quirks" and may be on its last legs and I'm not looking forward to replacing the camera AND the waterproof housing....
I snapped a couple quick regular photos with the camera using default settings for those who wanted to see the quality. Click the image for full size (these are reduced in size by 50%)
THANKS, wife said we definitely need one for the next trip. this pool and beach condo owner in Floridsa could use one year around.
