Hey, Its been 2+ years since our last trip. What are the cabs gonna be asking for a ride back to TTR after a clubbing night and what should we counter with as a price? P
One cab tried asked us for 80 USD!!! This was in the daytime for about 1 mile! We gave him 80 pesos. Coming back from Coco Bongo's we were charged 18 USD for 6 of us in a big cab at about 3.45am, so not so bad.
Take the bus. Seriously. It's not even about the money. The bus is 75 cents or something. But more importantly, it's way more fun. It's polluted with lots of good evening entertainment and way more interesting that a cab. But to answer your question, last year we hired a cab for a full day to take us to Coba, Tulum, Playa Del Carmen and back for $150. that was about a 10 hour day and probably about 150 miles. so the 3 miles to the bar should be under $20 for sure. Cabs don't have meters in Mexico. Negotiate your rate before you get into the cab. Once you have a deal, then get in.
Yeah, I don't get why you would get a taxi from the club area to Temptation, take the bus, it is a no-brainer.
When we come out of Coco Bongo, or the City, or where ever at 3am and drunk, the last thing I want to do is find the bus stop, wait for the bus, find the correct change and mingle with the 3am crowd on a bus.. I just want a cab for the two of us and a quiet ride back. We've used the bus a few times, and it's been fine.. It is just a matter of convenience and not being on a bus when drunk at 3am.
One cabbie tried to nail us for $16.00 US but after a quick Go To H--- another gave us a ride for $6.00 from Coco Bongos bact to TTR!
