This was on my local news last night: http://www.wcpo.com/wcpo/localshows/dontwasteyourmoney/362ecb96.html
Wow, never heard of this. Good tip! So many stores have them all around not just at the checkouts, no wonder it is now just another way to steal and cheat the system.
I would have never thought that buying them off the rack could be risky. That particular news station has great tips like this all the time. Tonights tip is on how to find low cost airfare..you know I'll be tuining in for that!!!
Ugh! Not happy to hear that my new favourite method of gift giving has these increased risks. (With my siblings, we all tend to buy one another gift cards to Chapters/Amazon, Pier 1, spa day, etc. Just much easier and we all know it will be enjoyed by each other.) I did notice that Chapters gift cards now have a pin number on the back... it is underneath a scratch off film... if you go to buy/activate the card and the pin is showing... don't buy that card. Assuming this news report is explaining much of the reason why.
