I will be arriving Nov. 7th on United Airlines. Just wondering how to get to the bus that goes to downtown Cancun? I think it's the ADO bus as I will be staying just a few blocks from the main bus station. Also any idea of the cost?
    Thanks

    Hey Al,

You can get the ADO, it costs like 45 pesos (4 bucks) according to the website

Here's the site so you can check the times etc

ADO - Compra de boletos --> Horarios

    Regards

    Mat

Terminal 2 or 3, you will come out the doors and turn to your right, you should see 2 ADO buses. One goes to Playa del Carmen the other downtown Cancun. There will be signs in the front window. You can buy a ticket right at the bus.

Thanks, the above information is exactly what I needed. I saved the ADO bus link and have made notes for when I arrive.

We used the ADO bus a week ago and it was $45 pesos, much cheaper than the cabs and shuttles. From there, we took a taxi and so got to our hotel for about $10 USD instead of the $45USD per person they wanted on the shuttles or $60 USD for a taxi. Its the way to go if you are not in a hurry.

Not sure I agree with you Bruce on this one if heading to a hotel in the Hotel Zone.

After a long flight with bags etc. I wouldn't want to head downtown on an ADO then get a cab.

If price is an issue then I'd opt for a 9 dollar shared transport option from the airport like this one Cancun Airport Transfer | Shared Cancun Transfer Just $9

rather than messing around with buses and cabs for the same price.

I'd probably use that option if I was heading to a hotel downtown as well to be honest.

More often than not we opt for USA Transfers, for the comfort and convenience, following a long trip. When we're traveling with little luggage, and returning from a short trip, the ADO is an option for us, but we don't often use it.

I do agree with Bruce that the service is good, and inexpensive. You've got to be on your toes, though. Last time we took that option, ADO had put some contracted bus service on that route, so the bus was not marked ADO, and worse, it did not have a sign saying it was the Cancun service. As a result, it nearly left without us!
