Whats this Ive read about getting "bumped" to another resort if Temptation is full. I DONT THINK SO! Thats crazy if true. If I wanted another resort, Id book another resort!
They will Ask people to upgrade to sister resort desires for free for couple of days if they are over-booked. Usually they Ask for volunteers first.
Yep it happens...pretty often from our experience. Always nervous at check in until we hear they have a room. Also a good chance you'll get a room with 2 double beds instead of the king most people request. We've only had a king once. But as long as they have a room we don't get upset, it's never been a big issue for us. Worst case sleep on the beach
Very very unlikely you will get bumped in September, October or November unless maybe a holiday weekend and in that case they first seek out volunteers to go to desire. I would not be worried. The biggest risk seems to be a late Friday or Saturday arrival in peak times in April or maybe may or maybe late feb.
What he said March to May are the busy months and are usually overbooked. Got lucky in April and got a king bed though. Room overlooked the sports pool from the balcony and Paty'o's out the front door and we loved it. Bring ear plugs.
We've talked to at least 1 person on each of our last 3 trips that has been bumped and those trips were in January, March and November. So to say it only happens during busy months it a bit of a stretch. Its usually only 1 day so even if it happens its not the end of the world. Just cross your fingers and hope for the best.
When we went in '11 we got bumped to Desire and we were there in Sept - but we really enjoyed Desire (even though we were only there for 2 nights)...
We have been bumped in September. We never left the hotel but stayed in Jim's room. It all worked out.
