Gotta love those "amparos".. you can literally murder your spouse (or anything else) and be untouchable by law enforcement for months and months... provided you can afford the lawyer and.. uhmmm... "convince" a judge to sign off on it... :mexicoflag:Viva Mexico!
Extradition to Mexico The accused fled Mexico. Following a thorough investigation (the full details of which are contained in the request for extradition), he was charged with the murder by a Mexican judge; then, a formal request for the 1) arrest; and, 2) extradition of the accused from the U.S. to Mexico was issued by the Mexican Government, and acted upon by the U.S. Government. (Full details are contained in the info provided by CC.) What happened that made you think something might be irregular in the way the Mexican authorities dealt with this case, Life? _________________________
I woke up to hear this news on FoxNews. My first though - "About damn time. 2nd thought - "Assuming he did it, and it sure seems that way, I hope they fry this punk." Then I had breakfast.
V, I don't presume to know the details of the Mexican laws, but from my understanding the Amparo is a sort of get out of jail free card that keeps police at bay... basically you commit a horrid crime and then you run to the nearest law office and they will file one on your behalf that prevents the police from touching you... The wiki entry has some details, but I don't know how well that relates to the real-world use of them here in Mexico... I don't know that anything was "irregular" by Mexican standards... I'm just pointing out one of the IMHO oddities of the system here...
