Now that the clothes are picked out its time to turn my attention to other things. I saw on the forms the federalizes allow 3 liters of liquors to be brought into the country. We were thinking of bringing a couple of bottles of our favorite for our room so we don’t have to run down to the bar every 15 minutes. We usually do it in the states so we can have a libation or 2 while we get ready. Really its more like I put on clothes, fix her a cocktail and Dj the I-pod hoping I can hit the right song so she gyrates around while doing her hair. it’s a guy thing, but I digress. I’m sure plenty of you have done this(the bring alcohol part not watch your wife I know that answer) My question is it is do you have to declare it, is there an inspection of some sort. If it’s a hassle I’m going to have to put a long song as sprint to the bar because I don’t want to get hung up at the airport.
No hassle, we brought four 750ml bottles last trip in our checked bag - didn’t have to declare. Glad we did because it saved all sorts of time whether pregaming for the night, shots w friends, or pouring my own in my bubba mug prior to heading to the pool. Will do that again next trip!
Maybe I'm having a senior moment, but I don't get why folks bring their own liquor from home when going on vacation to an all-inclusive resort? ... and compound that with the risk of a bottle breaking in your checked luggage? Can't good connections ($) at the resort still get you a discreet bottle (or filled Bubba mug) of your favorite liquor to your room? To what extent have TTR's butlers been helpful in this regard also?
Because this resort doesn’t have alcohol in the room. Maybe I’m lazy but $5 in bubble wrap (suitcase risk avoided) to have my own bar in my room is worth it. Even at all inclusives that did have alcohol in the room I found myself taking vodka to the pool to “fortify” my drink! Not a fan of sugar water. And maybe I’m an alcohol snob - no Tito’s or Crown since I’m not a member. There were multiple nights making shots so glad I had it in the room (did run downstairs for lime wedges). https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003...rap sleeve&dpPl=1&dpID=41DnPbMq0OL&ref=plSrch
We always arrange to have a bottle ready by our transportation company. Very affordable and you can have a drink on the way to the resort!
Normally try to make a trip to walmart on the way in. Decent selection to get by. Last time I bought a few bottles of wine which helped with dinner...that was probably the best decision as it cost a tenth of what ordering a bottle at the resort does.
We bring a plastic bottle of Fireball with us. We take it to Bash at night, and tip Victor or whoever else is there to keep it cold for us!
