Been told to do it (a longer version, anyways), so here it is: Day 1. Fly out of DFW on Halloween. effin AA radio station tells us to go to the wrong terminal. Had to take the "airtram" to the right terminal. still made it in plenty of time. helped that the flight was 15 minutes late. got to orlando, took forever to find the Disney Magical Express desk (or somesuch) to get a free shuttle to our Disney Resort. they need better maps or directions throughout the terminal to help find it. shuttle (huge bus) dropped us off first at the Wilderness Resort. so late that we barely had time to order room service before all food sources were closed (at midnight). nathaniel loved his bunk bed. he knew it was for him even though he was three years to young to climb in. paid over $40.00 for three effin turkey sandwiches w/chips and two cans of soda. welcome to disney. Day 2. Slept late obviously. took the exclusive free ferry from our resort to the Magic Kingdom after purchasing tickets at the concierge desk at our resort. had a blast. nathaniel had to get on the buzz lightyear ride twice (almost three times). rode several rides with him...some without T. dumbo, the teacup ride, it's a small world, the new peter pan ride, the haunted mansion, the pirates of the caribbean, the snow white ride, saw a couple shows, etc... saw the fireworks show and the parade and then... in the rush to get out ahead of the crowd, T's leg brace snapped. she was immobile until i got a courtesy wheelchair from a helpful employee near the entrance. took the wrong ferry boat and wound up at the huge terminal for parking and buses. took the monorail back to the magic kingdom, and then the correct ferry to our resort. good day in the sense that nathaniel got to pose for pics with pinocchio, stitch, and buzz lightyear. ate at the crystal palace buffet and took more pics with winnie the pooh, eeyore, tigger and piglet. bad day in the sense that the snapped leg brace would determine the course of the remainder of our stay at WDW. Day 3. After breakfast a taxi ride to a doc in downtown orlando just to hear 'em say that they can't repair or replace the brace in just 24 hrs. paid almost $100 for a roundtrip taxi ride just to hear that. purchased some duct tape to tide us over. nathaniel is completely disappointed in the day so far (i don't blame him, or course). so T and I decide to dump another load of $$ and make reservations at the Chef Mickey's buffet at the contemporary resort. as she rests and recouperated in our room i take nathaniel to the huge "heated" pool for the resort. had some fun, but we've thin skin and it is a little breezy. head back in with time to prepare for the buffet. took the ferry to the contemporary. got pics of nathaniel with mickey, minnie, pluto, goofy and his fav donald. he got so excited that night that he swallowed a lot of air and got a tummy-ache. our waitress kindly prescribed some ginger ale to solve his woes...but he was soooooooooo happy and excited. not to mention that buffet has an excellent prime rib. would do it again. got a surprise pic opportunity with peter pan on the contemporary's ferry dock (he looks and sounds just like he was in the movie...proof he never grows up). Day 4. express check-out is great...check out our luggage and get our boarding passes to boot AT THE RESORT. saves us enough time to...go to one other disney park: mgm. T in a wheelchair, however, to save us time. saw virtually every major daytime attraction. were given dreampasses when at the 3D muppet show, but we didn't use any of the tabs. got out in time for the shuttle to the airport and the flight home. nathaniel had a blast
ahhh, sorry to hear about T's brace But glad to hear that Nathaniel LOVED the trip! Do you have any pics to share?
got pics on the digital camera. would love to share, but my computer needs some replacement hardware and/or something to read the memory chip. hopefully, tho, i provided enough description to form perfect pictures in your little heads
Very nice report Michael. The pictures are great!!! Nathaniel is so adorable and looks like he was having a great time. Thank you for sharing. btw you can take your digital camera to your local walgreens photo finishing department and they can download the pictures from your digital camera to a compact disk for you.
good stuff, Mike.... and if you upload your pics to your comp using a usb cable you can usually just plug that cable into any other similar computer and upload. the software is already in most operating systems.
