(His Perspective) After 10 trips to TTR (never been anywhere out of the US except Cancun) we decided it was time to try somewhere else that might compare to the party at TTR so we booked 7 nights at Breathless Punta Cana for our 25th anniversary the last week of Feb. 2016. I, like others on here, are always looking for information on other adult resorts that might be comparable (with boobs) to TTR. The Breathless website advertises it as a party resort all day and all night. So here it goes…. When we arrived in our shuttle as the bellboy opened the door he says “Welcome to the party”, so we thought this place might be a lot of fun. RESORT- There is no comparison. Breathless is a large, @ 700 rooms, resort that is only a year and a half old. The buildings, landscaping, layout, is all very nice (no boobs). ROOMS- The room was large with a sitting area with a nice coffee table and couch. The bathroom was really nice with large walk in shower. The mini fridge was well stocked even with a bottle of rum, champagne, Pringles, and 2 candy bars the first day. There was a Jacuzzi tub on every balcony. I did miss the mirrors on the wall next to the bed. The TV had the Playboy channel and one other porn channel ( it was a little better than the all anal channel at TTR). DAYTIME PARTY- No boobs. Heres what you’ve all been waiting for. I could not find an answer on their website as to whether topless was allowed at the pools. Some travel websites sell it as so. I looked in the services book in the room and it specifically said topless allowed at the beach but prohibited at the pools. My wife knows a big part of our adult only trips is me enjoying seeing her topless (and course all the other lady’s) so she was determined to be the topless at the pool ringleader. It failed. She tried twice on different days. The first time she took her top off within 15 seconds a security guard was headed straight for her. UH OH. He walked up with a huge smile and said “Alright” and gave her a high five. We got into the pool and she got a lot of Oh my god looks. We went over to a group we had been hanging out with some and the men all wanted to keep high fiving so her boobs would come out of the water. They were hilarious like they’d never seen any before. However their wives were not amused and shortly all 4 of the wives disappeared with their noses turned up. One lady came over and said she always wanted to try it and took her top off for @ 5 minutes underwater and put it back on. So after a short time not wanting to be shunned by my most of the uptight wives in the pool my wife put her top back on. Another day (after a few drinks) she took her top off in the quiet pool. The looks were hilarious and when she left the swim up bar there was a group of 3-5 guys. One of them literally yelled “ Oh my god she is topless” as she went by. She put her top back on after about 10 minutes. The entertainment staff did an amazing job with the energy level they kept up all day and they put a ton of effort into the games and shows at the pool (all G rated). BEACH- The beach is beautiful. Breathless is about 20 miles past the Punta Cana resort strip. Walking the beach one way from the resort there is not another resort for about 1 mile. We spent a lot of time walking the fairly level hardpacked beach with only a few small gift shacks. The beach is lined with palm trees. The wife was comfortable walking up and down the beach topless ( so I made sure we walked plenty) and sometimes we would only meet a handful of other couples walking. Going the opposite way in a mile there are two other resorts in a mile but it was still a nice walk. There were probably 10-20 other women every day who were topless lying at the beach and she did not get any funny looks there. There were tons of tiki hut type shades on the beach with plenty of chairs. NIGHTLIFE- There are theme nights but those turned out to be just the staff shows. The staff puts a lot into the shows and are fun to watch but the sexy vibe is not there at all. The ladies do not dress anything like they do at TTR. It is a little older crowd. My wife brought her TTR only sexy club dresses but only wore a couple. She ended up dressing more conservative the rest of the nights. Service at the bars was good, the drinks were good and they have a wide selection of liquors. The nightclub is inside and very nice. The center pieces in the club are two permanent raised stripper poles so when I walked in was thinking “ that’s what I’m talking about”. I only saw a few people use them all week other than the wife, bummer.. They did have some fun themed party’s at night, one being a beach party where they went above and beyond assembling a steel stage and platforms for a trapeze style show above you as everyone danced barefoot on the beach. Another was lingerie night. It was staff doing a Victoria’s Secret type runway show. No guests were dressed in any type of lingerie. We did not leave the resort at night because the downtown nightlife was @30 min. taxi ride away. FOOD- A lot of restaurant choices and buffet. Had read a lot that the food in the Dominican was bland. We found it on about the same level as TTR. Overall the resort was amazing but not the vibe if you’re looking for anything remotely close to TTR. So to wrap it up… Would I go back? Probably not. I’m glad we went. It was a nice relaxing change and we got to see a different place. It was beautiful. But I missed the people (boobies), the carefree attitude (boobies), and the TTR party (sexy ladies and boobies). TTR is a complete break from reality that is hard to duplicate and the non-judgemental, likeminded people, just seem to gravitate there. We can go anywhere else and feel like we have to act appropriately, that is just not as much fun as TTR. Hope this is informative for those thinking of trying somewhere else. I’m guessing it was just about like the one getting ready to open in Cancun.
Good summary. We went to Breathless before ever hitting TTR yet had similar opinions on the place. Guess we thought the place would be more lively since they tell you, 'Welcome to the party' upon arrival. We felt most kept to themselves and most days were bored there. after 5 trips to TTR we too went to Breathless in March 2016,Everything you say is true we liked it...But true it's not TTR but they could take away a few things..Nightlife and shows you could handle as the Air moved around and breeze Only downfall of Payto's..And the wait staff and bar staff WOW you never waited for a drink at a bar or sitting anywhere always people getting them for you... We are back to TTR in May 25th-29th and October week 1 but we may go back to Breathless in July...
Thanks for that excellent comparison trip report! I'm going to Breathless in Cabo in November and figured it cant be as rowdy as Temptation. I think I might print some official looking signs that say-Topless Pool Party, and put them all over the resort, just to see if that gets the ball rolling It might take a Temptation crowd takeover to bump up the action!
Nalisa, thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!! We always ask around to see if there is another place like TTR. There's got to be, right? So far the most common answer is Hedo then Desire. We like to venture around and go to different places. that's why we always ask people if they know of a similar place. We have never been to the same place twice until we hit TTR. Our search continues and thanks to you we can take Breathless off our list. My buddy says Club Med in Cancun is awesome, we will have to pass by to check it out during our next stay at TTR. We will keep you posted. Also, if you hear of anything else like TTR do let me know, please. We will be at TTR in April for our 7th time!!
