Hi, just a quick question, we are looking to book a room for Temptations in Oct 2013...Of all the places we looked, Alpharooms is by far the cheapest. Is there a reason for this? Are the reputable? Did anyone book through them and have issues? We are in the U.S. and its a U.K. site, havent been able to find a contact # for them for US...Anyone have any insight to this??? let us know, thanks
I used alpharooms this past year and by far would recommend them all the way. If they ever go cheaper, chat with them, they will help you out to get the cheaper price. That's what they did for me. I never had any issues and it was a better trip then the first trip with Apple vacations. Good luck and have fun! :lotsofmichaelfs:
They have a good rep on this forum but have heard they will be changing the way they book rooms in the future.
Used them the last 5 trips.. 1) use a link off this website so Steve gets credit 2) use a debit card. The fees are less. 3) have fun
thanks for the advice... Thanks, we are definately leaning on booking through them, since the price is terrific.....Just worried by the few horror stories we have heard, but they seem to be more about the rooms that were booked than Alpharooms themselves. We really wish there was a contact for them, if anyone has a US # (1-800...etc) or even an email address, which we cant seem able to find anywhere, that would be great. And thanks again for the posts.
We attempted to book tonight with no luck - Well, I should say our booking went through but our credit card would not. We even tried two different ones, and both said there was a problem processing the card. We use these cards and I guarantee there are no issues. Now our booking is marked as "Must be paid in 24 hours or it will be cancelled" so we are panicking a bit because our non refundable airline tickets are already purchased. Maybe we'll be sleeping under a palm tree? ;-)
That happened with me as well. I ended up having to call and speak to an agent. It was straightforward and took less than 10 min. A few moments later I received my voucher through email. The agent thought the problem might have been trying to our the charge through on u.s funds. Luckily they give you 24 hours to complete the transaction because when I tried to search it again a half an hour later the price had gone up over 200 dollars!
you have to call your credit card company before you book since it is a foreign transfer of funds and most credit card companies will flag it as fraudulent unless you call ahead of time. I usually just find out what the price is before I book then call the credit card company and tell them I will be placing a travel from a UK company for whatever the amount is and they clear it though their security dept. Just like when you go to Mexico you need to call your credit card company ahead of time and tell them the dates you are in Mexico since they just might not approve the charges while you are there
