Glad to see Temptation have reopened & with all the great reviews so far, we're excited to book our 5th trip back for Aug. We've always booked direct thru the resort for room & air package, as we thought they had to best pricing & less hassles in messing up reservations. But reading that many others had good experiences with other booking sites. So we're looking at other options now. - Direct non-stop roundtrip flights from Houston IAH to Cancun on United air, $146 /pp, we get free checked baggage for using United credit card (so around $300 for us 2) - Plush jaccuzzi room only, direct on Temptation & on most other sites including Travelocity are about the same - But booking Room & air package together: Temptation adds another $100 for included air, whereas on Travelocity it's almost $100 cheaper with air included than the room only price. No brainer there. So what's your opinion on booking other reputable booking sites, besides booking directly with resort? Thanks,
We've used Expedia quite a bit for hotel room only bookings, didn't know about their vacation packages with air included. Just checked & Expedia's total price was even lower than Travelocity. CheapTickets & CheapCaribean are the same prices as Temptation's. Looks like Expedia's the way to go for us... Thanks
We booked our 2nd trip (7/17-7/24) through vacation express and have always had a great experience with them. We have a fantastic rate for a master suite!
Yes, we've used Vacation Express for a few family trips before also. But they're $100 more expensive than directly with Temptation this time. Thanks,
We never book through Temptations . Always get a better deal elsewhere .Used Sunwing or Trip Central or anyone else . Hotel , flight and transfers included .
I rarely find better deals than Expedia’s packages so I always start there. I was seeing direct flights from dc plus a week a TTR for $850pp earlier this week. Plus, add in the fact that you’ll accumulate points that can be used for further discounts and it’s a no brainer.
Booked. Funny, went back to Expedia this eve & it was almost $100 more than earlier in the day. So we went with Orbitz, only $30 more than the lowest Expedia price earlier. Plus gotta pay for checked in luggage on United....
Expedia owns Orbitz, hotel .com, Travelocity, Hotwire, Trip Advisor, Trivago, Home Away, Cheap Tickets and more. The prices change from day to day. If you see a good price one day and a higher price the next day, just wait. Chances are ,in a day or two, that lower price will reappear. Usually better to bundle Air and hotel together. Unless you use air miles. Pick an online booking company and join their club to accumulate points for use on a future trip. Plus you can still get airline miles. Plus Credit Card points. WIN WIN WIN.
