A group of 4 plan to go August 30-September 3 1. If booking via alpharooms.com there is only an option for double deluxe. Does that mean I will get 2 double beds as my only option? If so, what can I do to ensure 1 King? 2. Liquor: What type of cognac and scotch do they serve? 3. Local stores: Are the prices reasonable for snacks/bottled water/beer and liquor? 4. Is Labor Day weekend a busy time? 5. Will there be a Boobs Cruise Labor Day weekend?
It is random for the room, double deluxe is all the same room. You can request a king in express check in ahead of time but there is no guarantee. Ask for a king at the front desk. Only other difference is ocean view. Sorry, not sure on the scotch or cognac. walmart has good booze prices, there is also a fridge in your room which they can put beer into from the service. Comes with the room couple beer, pop, water. There is also a liquor store across the street. Labor day is a good weekend it is usually busy until the weekend ends. We will be there again this year. Remember it is still hurricane season too. Weather is usually pretty good but humid. Mostly rains after you are sleeping. Depends on whether Steve get the numbers but also depends on the ocean as well as it is windier.
Thanks for your response. So I guess regardless whether I book through alpharooms.com, the Temptations website, or expedia, the bed type is still going to be random? That was what was stopping me from booking through alpharooms.com since it explicitly stated double deluxe. If it's a crapshoot regardless, at least I can save money...
We booked Alpharooms this time the first time using this site. If you book through the hotel I am not sure. You are going at a busy time though and it might be so booked up, just be glad to get a room. If you get one with two beds then ask to switch to a kind and they can usually accomodate you the next day when someone goes home.
Ok. Are rooms given out on a first come, first served basis? The flight we plan to take will have us arriving 1140am on Thursday. Do you think that will give us an advantage?
One other thing. If we get a room with 2 double beds, can they be pushed together to create one huge bed?
