    Please help if you can,

We are a group of newbies thinking about going on the Boobs Cruise on Mar. 29th. Our only concern is how rough the ride might be. We have one person who is very worried about getting seasick, and having that ruin her day.

Any thoughts on the smoothness or roughness of the day overall? Can you tell by the weather forecast? Wind speed or direction?

Please comment with anything you know. Thanks so much, hope to see you out there.

A buddy of ours apparently gets seasick easily. He used the Dramamine patch and was all good, no problems and fine ona day when the Gulf was a bit choppy, with perhaps 4-5 ft. seas. Besides, the catamaran used now is much more stable in the bit rougher weather than a standard single-hulled vessel.

You see land the whole time. It’s not too rough. I don’t get sick.

Most of the time the ride is very smooth. Having the bigger catamaran definitely makes it more stable. Only on days with strong wind would it be much of a concern. One trick I learned from diving though is to look at the horizon if you begin to feel a little uneasy. Don't look at the waves directly ahead, but instead look at the horizon line in the distance. It helps.

Use Dramamine, not the newer motion sickness stuff. Dramamine is good for up down like the sea, the newer motion sickness med is more for left right (like driving).

The key is taking it BEFORE you get motion sick. If you are sick then take it, it's too late. I've heard of people not feeling well. Sucks to ruin a day, but I also understand Steve and Crew have been know to help setup a water taxi back to resort. It'll cost some, but better than being miserable.

Also weather reports in Cancun are notoriously unreliable.

I used to work offshore and would get horribly see sick. I get mildly sick on cruise ships. But I didn’t get sick on the Boobs Cruise. Like other have said you can always see the land so you mind can adjust a bit, and the air is pretty fresh.

Truthfully by the end I wasn’t sure if it was me or the boat moving!

Dramamine seems to be what most people take. I just suffered through it.

    Yeah, about that!
Let’s all agree to blame it on the lunch stop food!
