Last poll has the Congressional Republicans with a 28% approval rating. Even less than the illustrious but equally inept Dems at 32%. Obama was at, best I recall, 45% (unbelievable). Could it be that the party that "speaks for all Americans" hasn't got a f***ing clue what "all Americans" really want?? Could it be that "all Americans" are finally figuring out that the entire bunch is bought and paid for and we don't have a chance in hell of anything we really want being considered by this bunch???
Democrats controlled the presidency, the House, and the Senate for all of 2010 and not only never approved a budget, they never even SUBMITTED a budget, of any kind. They simply ignored their constitutional duties. Period. Is Boehner too inflexible on the idea of some tax hikes. I believe so...But if you are waiting on these dems to develop some kind of fiscal discipline you are smoking a crack pipe and are due for a horrible experience...Using language like "Boehners Boners" is only typical of our partisan mindset and only worsens the problem....The amazing thing to me is we expect a man who has never actually run a damn thing, in any capacity, to now effectively run the largest economy on the planet. How stupid we were (are). I've had 2 small businesses in my life, with multiple employees. I'M more qualified than Obama is...We always seem to fall for the smooth speechmakers....Me? I would like to trap them all in a room until they come out with concrete, written, tax increases and spending cuts.
Bill, I couldn't agree with you more. Anyone who has ever been in business knows you have three choices when times are tough. You either reduce expenses or you raise revenue. When you are in really deep trouble you have to both decrease expenses and raise revenue. Now has there been even one politician who has suggested cutting expenses and raising revenues? If there is, I don't know who it is.
rdubnpk What is the old saying about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? Well, with very few exceptions, we keep electing the same people over and over or the sametype of people and are disappointed and disgruntled when nothing changes. The thing is, though, we are never truly given a choice. You have to have big money backing you to run for office. Getting that big money makes you beholding to whoever donated that money for you to run. The allegiance of those elcted are first to those backers and somewhere down the line, their constituancy.
rdubnpk But the real key to a truly successful politician is to make people believe you are acting in their best interest when truly you could care less about the struggling middle class and the soon to be even more destitute lower class while making sure that the richest Americans (the 1% who now control 90% of the wealth) continue to get every possible break. And while we're at it, let's keep those credits for the big oil companies in place, too. Not that I believe any of you fine folks out there would fall in to that category.....................
