Has anyone recently traveled that has the blackberry curve from Verizon? I am going next month and want to see if my phone will work there, also if text messaging will work. Anyones help will be greatly appreciated... Thanks
Depending on your carrier, your Curve should work. I have Verizon and it worked fine with my Treo when I was there and the Curve should be the same.

I just use mine for e-mail and phone, so I don't think you will have a problem. The voice part of mine was all I used in Mexico so you will probably find the internet useage of the Curve to be pretty slow. If you are using Verizon, make sure you add International to your plan. It is usually done with no charge.
I have used a Blackberry Pearl 8130 at BBG/Temptations with Verizon as carrier since November 2007 without problems. HOWEVER, you do have to call verizon and have the "Mexican Connection" turned on. Additionally, I think you have to start your calls 001 or 011 then area code and number. Call verizon to confirm. Good luck, when are you going?
I just called Verizon and they said i have international calling so should be ok right?? so you have to dial 011 52 then the 10 digit number for calls and texts?
I think once your in Mexico you just dial 001 then the area code and the # to dial to the US. Pretty sure you use the 011 + 52+ the number to call from US to Mexico
Looks like you are all set on the phone. Not sure yet when I am going. I have a huge closing the first part of March and will be at Playboy Club party 26th -30th. Have you been since all the staff changes?
