One of the worst performers costs $200 a year if you watch TV for 8 hours a day, every day of the year. 1- That's comparing today's standard TVs. If you're dad is still using a tube television, or a first generation LCD, then he's probably using more power. 2- Who watches TV 8 hours a day, every day? 3- If you happen to watch TV 8 hours a day, everyday, $16/month shouldn't be a problem, since you're probably not spending money on anything else, except maybe on cable and at Blockbuster.
Buddy, I like my toys... and even though I'm not married, I still find myself having to sometimes justify my decisions. A good sales person can sell you something you may not need. A great sales person can sell their baby's mama into letting him keep it.
So rear-projection wins over plasma when it comes to less energy consumption? Who really shops for that? Picture quality always comes over wattage when it comes to peeps looking for a new big screen.
