Just a heads up... There seem to be lots of "ratas" breaking into places and stealing things lately. As some of you might recall I was hit pretty good earlier this year, and I almost had a repeat today. At about 1:30 this afternoon (broad day light!) two guys tried to force open an iron gate to steal a small generator that I had placed outside yesterday because the gas fumes were creating an odor in my place. Luckily my neighbor heard a commotion and confronted the men, who claimed that they were told; "there was an apartment for rent....." Once he told them, "NO! It was not for rent", they moved off, and he could see what they were really doing, but of'course they made a quick disappearing act in the maze of streets that is Cancun. So remember, if you leave ANYTHING, ANYWHERE VISIBLE, these "ratas" will try to steal it and cause damage your property in the process. I was under the illusion that a heavy iron gate would detour anyone from bothering.... it didn't! Be extra vigilant folks..... there's rats on the loose.... :evil:
