My wife and I will be going to Cancun for the first time the end of January. Besides the wild, sexy fun at the resort, we also want to get out and get some culture and visit the town. Here is my current itinerary with a few things we would like to do. For each activity, can you recommend if it is worth doing, and if so, who to book it with and which day/night of the week? The more info the better! OK.. a little input from a Repeater... it's free advice and usually worth what you paid for it, but here it goes.... First, you’re gone from the hotel every day except the last. On our first trip we thought we would be out and about everyday because who wants to just hang around the pool and do nothing all day? Trust me, you will! The fun in the day leads to the friendships you make and the experience you will enjoy at night. Don’t get me wrong, where ever you go, you will be welcome but arriving as a stranger to Padyo’s at night will affect how long it takes to get your party started. Everyone else will be continuing the day party and you will be introducing yourselves and trying to catch up. Does that mean you can’t ever leave? Nope! You’ve got a 5 day trip; plan one, maybe two days out. Remember, TTR is addicting and you WILL be back. If you do everything the first year, there will be nothing for the next 20 years to do when you come back. Yes you will be coming back for the next 20 years. Next May will be our 15 year of going to TTR. Now comes the hard part. Every tour you picked (except the cave crossing only because I’ve never heard of that one before) is a winner! You MUST do them all. So pick one for this year and save the rest of the following years. As for who to book with? We suggest the Entertainment Plus link on this page. They do you good, have excellent refund policies, and it helps support the continuation of this web site. Oh! There is one tour you forgot and that the Boobs Cruise. If there is one while you are there and you don’t go… well… we’ll still talk to you but you will be sad you missed it. Final input. The bikini contest at DadyO’s. While I will never tell a lady she shouldn’t do something, it is not a tourist type competition. There are some serious ladies with serious bodies competing. If she’s up for that type of competition go for it. Otherwise lingerie night at TTR is a fantastic place for most ladies to strut their stuff in a supportive environment. Jamie
I definitely appreciate your advise and we learned on our first trip to Cabo not to overbook. It really is hard deciding. I definitely want to do the Cave Crossing one morning, Coco Bongo one night and Isla Mujeres (Dolphin Swim, Beaches, Shopping, etc) one day. Maybe hit Dady'O one night when we are looking for a change of scenery or for the bikini contest (my wife really does have a rocking bikini body and is preparing to join fitness competitions in the bikini category). I really did want to do Chichen Itza being so close but all the comments on here talk about a 9 hour bus ride for a 3 hour sight seeing trip. If I knew there was a tour that took us directly there and to the Chenote, then I would consider trying to fit it in. But for now I think I will plan on Isla Majures and Cave Crossing for our two expeditions (and maybe deep sea fishing if it turns on, but hear it is poor this time of year).
Wow, what an itinerary! I'm sure you'll have fun with each adventure. But it sounds like you guys will be pooped after a run like that. You sound like us before our first visit to Disney World. We felt like we needed to see everything they had to offer, and we did, and we were spent after out vacation. If you have the time, may I suggest TTR for five days, for a vacation after your vacation. And just TTR. Go on the "Boobs Cruise" like Jamie suggested and believe me you won't be disappointed.
just a quick mention in case you didnt know, steves boob cruise is to isla mujeres xx so that does tick 1 of your boxes
We went to The City night club - had a great time. Resort goes on Friday's and has private seating/standing area, all you can drink bottle service with private hosts for $50/pp and transportation to the Club. Good show, epic dancing and fantastic DJ's. Great venue - holds 6K people. Took the city bus back around 4:30am for $1. Just yell Alto at the driver when you see the hotel. Friday is when all the different resorts bring there people to The City so its a good crowd, very young. Few people over the age of 35, even 30. We owned that box! Entertainment hosts said it was there favorite bar/club and we now know why! *Dolphin swim - we talked with 6 people who went one morning, they said it sucked and was not worth the $100/pp. ** Good luck with all the activities. I would not pre-book/pay for anything till after you get to the resort as you may decide you want to hang at the pool and party with the other guests.
The Boobs Cruise is great, but I don't think you could use it to cross a trip to Isla Mujeres off your list. The cruise schedule just does not allow enough time to enjoy the island. We do the Boobs Cruise, but then make a trip back on our own on the public ferry.
As a note, there are two Dolphin Adventures, one that is run out of Wet-n-Wild and one on Isla. The Wet-n-Wild one has indeed received mixed reviews in the past. The One on Isla has always recieved excellent reviews, at least in my experience. So be sure to check out which one you are hearing about so that you don't paint both with the same brush. Now, that's not to say that the one on Isla hasn't gone down recently (although I hope not) but just a reminder to check which one. Jamie
