We are planning to go back to Golden during the first week of April, 2012. I am a teacher and this will be my spring break. When is the best time to book to get a good deal? I have already been searching around on expedia to get an idea of what the prices may be. Thanks for your help. We had a great time last year and hope to take our friends with us this year. :O)
Hi Amy!!! you gonna miss us next year we will be there same week again. but as far as booking goes, IMO thanksgiving week or EARLY december is best. At least it was last year since i looked at the prices every other day after i booked and best flight/price combo was that thanksgiving week we booked. ie: our 7nights trip last year costed us $1011 with non stop flight that leaves Ohare at 6am gets to cancun at 940am....then comes back at 5pm CUN and back in chicago at 10pm. talk about taking whole day for our last day! while after december...prices are the same but with connecting flight or $200 more for non stop. note too that if you book with expedia (even though i dont suggest them coz we got screwed last time) you can pay 40% at time of booking then pay-off the balance 30days prior to your departure.
Hey Mike! I have already been looking already! I would go more often if I could! We used expedia about 2 years ago and things went fine but would rather stick with a travel agent that I can get ahold of if needed. We stayed at RIU Caribe that year. We are interested in going back to the Golden and hope our friends join us! Are you going back before March? Do you usually book through Expedia? Will you next time? Take care.
honestly, i check 3 main sites.....expedia, orbitz, and travelocity. As of right now travelocity has the best package for the flight i want. i did use travel agent from my work (same as your hubby) first time going to mexico! it was great but same purpose as online sites just better deals online. i am actually going back to GP for 4nights during labor day weekend....just waiting for other people now to book. (cheapest ive found them so far is $615 for 4nights) when i checked for march 2012, GP doesnt advertise any rooms available yet coz maybe its too early?
