My wife and I are planning our honeymoon that we never took after getting married and Temptations looks like a good, fun, adult, kid-free time. We were looking at pricing, and late Nov/early Dec looks best price wise. However, I am concerned that this would be the slow season and not many people would be around, either at Temptations or at the clubs in Cancun. Can anyone lend their thoughts as to whether this is a good time of year to go?
I was actually looking for the button that says now or anythime. Mayu and October seem to have the best stable weather that is warm but not overly hot. May wins though because there are no hurricanes then. But bottom line is that there is no "bad" time to go to TTR. Jamie
December 2009 Went there first week of December last year and when I left on a Sunday, people were checking in after being bumped to another resort on Saturday night because they over booked on saturday. Didn't go out to clubs, too much had happened, was happenning, or was gonna happen (some nights it was much needed sleep) when the crowd went out.
I usually try to beat Jamie to these questions, and there is no bad time of the year to go to TTR. We have only been once during late November/early December, and the weather was great. Not hot, but warm enough to be in the pool every day. Much nicer than it usually is in STL during that time of year. The resort may not be at capacity, but there will be plenty of people to party with. The clubs will all be open and plenty of people there also. NYE is our favorite time for TTR, but also during the most expensive period. You certainly cannot beat the pricing for the Nov/Dec timeframe.
I would think dec- march would have some risky weather as the pool is NOT heated, is that a factor???? been very cold here in florida this winter, don't know how Cancun fares.
You are right about the pool not always being as nice as we would like, but the weather is all relative. A day or so after NYE I was moaning while sitting by the Sexy Pool as it was windy, cloudy, but still warm enough that I comfortable in shorts and a tee. I looked at the weather in STL on my phone and it was 3 degrees, and I was fine the rest of the trip.
