we have been back form Temptations for about 2 weeks and need to go back so were planing for 2 weeks NEXT (ughh) late spring/summer/early fall so what months are best to go there is only 3 factors we care about 1. Avoid the rain? 2. Croud we want it to be busy and lively? 3. Price?
We've gone the third week in August a few times and rain while there has never been an issue. We did however have a hell of a time getting home last year due to the big hurricane on the east coast. The crowd was lively and busy, and the price is relatively low because technically that is hurricane season....
I think every summer month group is going to tell you that when they go is the best time. We have been to Cancun 3 times during August, as that is our anniversary, and we used to go during our anniversary. But we weren't happy with the weather at that time. It rained or was severely overcast with the threat of rain 50-70% of the time. Even barely got out of Cancun one year, with an impending hurricane coming in, forget which one it was, but it was the one that hit Cancun a few years back that did extensive damage. So we decided to start going the second week of June, which is when my birthday is, and always allows time for kids to be out of school. We have been 3 times out of the last 4 years during June. The weather is much better, as it hasn't gotten horribly hot, as it's just the beginning of summer, and hardly any rain while we are in Cancun. And the group that we meet up with the second week of June is to die for! Some of the best friends we have, and we're partial to thinking we are one of the craziest groups to hit TTR during the year! So that's just our 2 cents based on experience of going both in August and June! Ed
We have gone in June and August. As long as you go in early-mid August you shouldn't have to worry too much about Hurricanes. June averages the most rainfall a month (6.9 inches) July (4.7 inches) and August (5.2 inches). I would just try to find the cheapest price during the summer and not worry about rain provided you go before September. Crowds always seem to be hit or miss.
We went last September had great weather till the day we left but i was leaving so i was ok with it and we are heading back again this September .. it really is hit or miss
Hello you two ... Vic and I had our first time at TTR August 2011 and loved the weather. If I was to compare our August trip to our March trip I'd vote August bc I enjoyed the weather more. It was extremely HOT and no wind - March as you know was extremely windy. However, March is their winter - so not horrible. Nonetheless, based on weather ... I vote August - based on fun factor ... either - it's TTR after all!! LOL!! :mnm: PS. Price was really affordable and the crowd was awesome!!
