Can you request a room and have a good chance of getting it this far in advance? We're getting ready to book our trip in May and can't remember the room lay out. We walked around and kinda picked out what we thought would be the best place for next time. Musta been the alcohol but now i can't remember. We stayed on the second floor kinda over looking the fun pool but it was partially blocked by a building and it was a little loud a 4am at the padio bar with people coming in from the clubs. We didn't mind that much because that was us a few nights too. It didn't occur to us to buy ear plugs from the gift shop till the second to last day (duh). So we're looking for a room with a better few of the fun pool in the same area "plus ear plugs" "that you don't have to have a time share to get". It was nice and convenient to everything. Or someplace nice and quite over looking the quite pool

I emailed them about two months before my reservations last year and requested a room near the quiet pool and they didnt even have it noted on my ressies that I made the request. I have a feeling you will likely run into the same preoblem.

It sounds like you were in the same place as we were last time and I have to agree the area overlooking the quiet pool was just a little better. (we stayed there in 2007)

This point is relevant to my interests.

This is my first time to TTR, Is there a certain side of the resort or rom type I should request when checking in?

Is there a big difference between ocean view and garden view, other than the view?

There is no difference between ocean and garden view other than the view. For that matter I wouldn't consider half of the rooms they consider as "ocean view" to have a true view of the ocean

They've always totally ignored my requests..even for a king-size bed.

    That's a good point,
Is there any danger of getting stuck with double beds?

Seeing how this is basically a couples resort I would assume most of the rooms should have Kings.

I would assume that most rooms would be kings, too. Maybe they put me in the 2 doubles so that the couples get the kings? Before they take you to your room, ask if it is a king..they've always been willing to move me but usually it would be the next day. So I've just stayed in the double even though I don't like it and had requested a king.

We ended up having double beds last time just because we did not want to be on the ground floor and they said it was the only room available. We didn't mind it at all because it over looked the quiet pool so there was not any noise ever.

Has anyone tried calling a few days before to see if they can reserve a room in a certain area? Since I speak spanish, I was hoping that would help.
