Although we are staying at an all-inclusive, we may want to sample some of the local cuisine and catch some great nightlife!

    Any recommendations?

It has been a few years, but my wife and I used to enjoy the Captain's Cove restaurant that is directly across the street from the Omni Hotel.

If you want a great experience, then I would suggest Perico's Restaurant which used to be downtown. We have dined there 5 or 6 times and absolutely made it a point to go back each time in Cancun. They had some issues the past several years, so if it is open then I would suggest going there. Great atmosphere and the food is pretty good.

    Hi,
been to Cancun in a condo for the last 6 years,we got the lattitude of choosing where we go for dinner. We suggest 2 places where we feel you could get some very good mexican food. "La Parilla" is a downtown authentic mexican place where you will be in a mexican surrounding. Some (or most) of the waiters are Mayan and very friendly.Good food, good ambience and fairly good prices. If you order a Bresilian, mexican or irish coffee...its a show! They do the pourring thing up on a chair, down to your table...all in flames!Nice n spectacular.

The second one is more like a so call mexican restaurant but we got suprise by the ambiance and the quality of the food. Its "MEXTREME" right in the club zone.We play the game of indecision choosing this restaurant or the other on the other side of the street...got free margharitas for incintive!lol So we went there, waiters are serving drinks by putting it on their head and dancing along the way. Food was good and serve in a crave lava rock, who keep our dinner hot all the time. It was fun and full of action.
    Hope you will try it!
