Went out last night and had way too much to drink, and am paying for it today with a headache and an inability to function I hate when I am on vacation and end up drinking too much and losing a day of my vacation feeling terrible, and definitely don't want that to happen when we are at Temptation. I know the best remedy is to not drink too much, but when you do, what are your best remedies for dealing with a hangover?
Asprin and water works for me. I try to drink as much water before going to bed(2, 8oz) which help with being too dehydrated when you wake up.
To avoid a hangovers being too bad. Drink 1.5 liters of water every morning. (1 of the big bottles in your room.) Then at dinner drink about 4-5 more glasses of water. Hangovers are primarily caused by dehydration. (When you drink a lot, you pee a lot causing your body to get rid of a lot of fluids it would otherwise normally have.) Dehydration causes restricted blood vessels in the brain leading to headaches. Avoid caffeine as it is a dieuretic (sp??). It will cause your body to not use the available fluids making the headache worse.
Of course you can also start training your body to deal with the vast amounts of alcohol you will consume at Temptations by starting to drink heavily months before you go, but don't blame me if your liver gives out. lol
Aspirin before you go to bed... Gatorade when you wake up. Rebalance your electrolytes. Had a friend one year that was dragging after dinner – before the show. Handed her a bottle and told her to drink it.. She didn’t believe me but said she would. Guess she was thirsty cause she came back 15 minutes later with half the bottle gone raving about how good she now felt. This works for me when I’m there living on about 2 hours of sleep per night. I try to take 3 ibuprofen with water before bed, and Gatorade G2 when I get up. Never been hungover with this.
Take 2 We always take 2 tylenol with a glass of milk or water before drinking for the night,,, seems to work.
