Manuel's Creative Cuisine. THE BEST! Has worked in the White House as the chef for George Bush Sr. Best meal I have had in my LIFE!
We haven't been to Los Cabos yet, but asked my friend who owns a dive shop here in Houston about recommendations. He LOVES Cabo and got married there a few years back. Here is what he said about local restaurants (in order of his preference): #1 Sunset De Monalisa ( this place is beautiful great place for sunset dinner so make sure you take a camera since there will be great photo ops, the only thing is when the sun sets it will get a bit cool so all you need to do is bring a sweater or light jacket) MAKE RESERVATIONS #2 Pitahayas Restaurant ( this is on the water as well and it’s an Asian infusion restaurant that has great food) MAKE RESERVATIONS #3 Tropicana Restaurant and Bar ( this place is located on the main street in San Jose Del Cabo and has great authentic Mexican food and a great atmosphere to dine an people watch, once your done with dinner take a walk up the street 4-5 blocks to the old town square and take a look at the buildings and church and I guaranty you will not be disappointed) #4 Casa Mexicana and Casa Seafood are two restaurants in Cabo San Lucas (obviously one is Mexican food and the other is seafood but both offer great food) #5 Senor Sweets ( this place started out as a dessert and coffee shop and now is a really nice restaurant on the Marina in Cabo San Lucas, they have great lunch and dinner menus and of course great desserts as well so make sure you stop by there and try them out) #6 The Trailer Park ( this used to be up on a hill and has been a staple in Cabo San Lucas for years, the food is good and reasonable priced but the owner is a very lively and entertaining man from the NE I'm not sure if he is fomr New York or Jersey but he is part of the experience and if you don’t like it you won’t pay for it!) Hope that helps! We'll be there in 3 days and will let you know if we try any of them out....
Wanted to put a vote in for Guacamayas. Last trip to SJD/Cabo we left the resort just once to eat their Al Pastor Tacos and will try to head their at least once when we arrive for our trip in a few days. It's a nice niegborhood place with lots of local charm and killer tacos...and only about a 5 minute cab ride from Temptations.
Don't forget to stop on the side of the road for a Coco Frios! It looks like an ice cream truck but the coconuts are amazing, after you drink the milk they scoop the coconut meat out and pur it in a bag for you. Don't be afraid to put hot sauce, lime and salt on it! I was a coco frios junkie while there! the best place to enjoy it was at the top of a cliff over looking Costa Azul! that is paradise!
