We are still trying to find airfare....trying to get the best rate...cheapo's we are!! any who..what is the cheapest airfare..from which airport? We are actually from Cali but find its actually cheaper to fly somewhere else and then go to Cancun...crazy. But I live with the "bargain King!"...doesn't pay full price for anything!! Thanks for your help... D
orbitz has good deals for airfare and resort, if you staying a for at least a week google for a coupon code that will get you $200 off good till the end of the year.
A couple of things for the ' Bargain King ' to remember or think about when booking flights. Some 'deals' aren't deals when taxes & fees are added to the great prices they are offering. Also check flight times. We try to fly as early as possible & leave the resort late in the afternoon. You gain almost a full day compared to arriving @ night & leaving early morning. I realize sometimes this doesn't always work but we try . Same with airport transfers. Private transfers will get you to TTR quickly to start your vacation, shared transfers may arrive hours later. Hope this helps Scott
Over all, US Airways is the cheapest from what we have seen in the past...at least from Canada. We have also checked from US destinations to Cancun and after all is said and done (seat sales to US) US Airways is still cheaper in the end. Hope this helps
I've consistently found the best prices with cheaptickets.com -- it's not because they have better fares than the other travel sites, it's because they have a 9x9 grid of departures/arrivals you can see at once with taxes and fees *included*, letting you pick the cheapest dates. That said, if your dates are already set, it doesn't help much. Whenever you are the home page, enter your flying dates/destinations, but don't click search. Below the search button, there are several small text links. One is flexible dates. Click it. On the second page, select Option 2 ("we have some flexibility around our dates") and you can select 1-3 days before and/or after departure, and 1-3 days before and/or after return. Pick 3 days before/after on both depart and return and you'll get a nice matrix of prices. Beats the heck out of trying dates one by one and they also have this option available for regional airports in the US (like the one I use in MO) unlike other sites. G'luck!
In May when the Swine flu changed all the flights, it was a major problem. AA chnged my flights and it was outrageous as far as price goes. It would have been something like 2000.00. I checked different dates and booked it for less than I have paid in many years. it was like 780.00 for 2 people. So departure dates and arrival dates do play a big factor in the whole picture. We were supposed to stay for 7 days, yet if I expanded it to 11 days we would save mega bucks on airfare. So that is what we did. It cost us a little more, yet it saved us a bunch on airfare. I did shop all of the sites. My advise is to look at arrival dates and departure dates when you travel as it changes by hundres of dollars on the date. Hope this helps, Don
When searching for flights I have seen a lot of prices in that $1500-$2000 range. I wonder if they ever sell any of those tickets. I can't believe anyone would pay that price? :? Scott
If you use Kayak.com they will search many different sites to find you the best deal and then you buy from that site.
