We are going to a beer stube this weekend. The last one of the year for our area. So it is going to be packed, Hot, and we will be waiting for ever for the porta-potties. Why do we torture ourselves? I am getting too old for this, but I will try to have fun!!!!!
Not sure if they are the same as the ones in Germany. Stubes over there are essentially "Guesthouses", a pub if you will. There used to be a cool one in Landstuhl named Shaferstuben where you could get a "meter-bier" or Half meter. It was a meter length board loaded with half-liter glasses full of beer (around sixteen glasses if I recall correctly for the meter, eight for the half). They're great places to have a few cold ones with your friends. However it sounds as though the one above may be like a beer festival since there will be a wait for port-a-potties. Speaking of fests Michael, do you know whether New Braunsfels still has their Wurstfest ?
lucky man! I guess you happened to be of drinking age when in Landstuhl. I was in elementary school when I was in Germany and at the time hated even the taste of root beer! :lol:
