I just arrived at Cancun Plaza after being gone since mid March - and the beach is amazing - twice the size as in March. Has there been some restoration?
I was out there the other day and noticed the same thing. The beach in there is much better than it was, though still on the small side. I think the beach restoration is still in the talk-about-it-and-do-nothing stage.
The beach comes and goes naturally. When we were there in March it was hitting the sea walls in many areas, back in January it was not like that and in much better shape. Glad it is coming back as we will be there in 10 days
That area from Club Med to about Oasis Playa is usually the best in Cancun no matter what happens to the rest. I think the wave action dumps what it takes away from the other areas--or it just doesn't hit as hard there. Beach recovery program keeps running into glitches--now possible start date is June 15. I doubt it.
Westin beach The last 2 Novembers the beach at the Westin was huge. Best it's ever been (since 2001). Jimmy
