    Hi,

We are going to Temptations in September but have seen a lot of bad reviews recently on Trip Advisor. The reviews are reporting ants in the rooms, faulty air conditioning, bad mannered staff, forceful time share selling and rubbish food, to name but a few of the complaints. There are still a few good reviews appearing but Temptations has moved from #29 to #32 in the last month because of the negativity. Are there any issues with the resort that we should know about?

The only good thing Tripadvisor is good for is getting a good laugh. 95% of those "bad" reports are laughable. I too have read the reports before many of my trips to cancun, london, ect, and what did I find? When I arrived I found it to be the opposite of what the bad reports said. Trust me, you will love temptations and the people there. I will let the Temptation pro's explain, but take anything you read on TA with a grain of salt. Better yet, a bag.

I can understand the concerns.. We did have ants the first trip, but none of the last 4. Food is good, not great. The rooms are ok, but its an older property

But if you want excellent rooms and food, go elsewhere. If you want to have an unforgettable trip where you make tons of new friends, and have a great time 18-24 hours a day, then get excited and do it.

Thank God for trip advisor. Without them TTR would be over booked and us folks couldn't go.

there is some really good reviews on there too. Temptations is not for everyone but the REVIEWER should have checked that out before they book. I've been looking at the reviews too but I've been 5 times already so I take it with a grain of salt.

I find that the people who post those negative reports are the ones that nothing is ever good enough for. They are cheap ass people trying to get a great price on a vacation but want hollywood treatment.

We had no problems at all with bugs in our rooms however there are some semi large bugs outside in PatyO's but what do you expect from an outside bar/restaurant.. lol

As for the food for the most part we thought it was really good the burgers late at night werent the best but did their job when starving but we found the restaurants to have a nice selection and decent sized portions. We even liked the buffet on most days..

They do push the timeshare thing on your first day there which is annoying. We told the lady 4 times we werent interested in the timeshare tour and she made us put a $20 down payment in before we could leave her desk saying we were coming back the next morning for the tour. Tony said he didnt mind paying the $20 so we could leave and get to the pool quicker.. it really bothered me though..

We had a GREAT time on our trip and he was planning our trip back on the first day there haha.. We will definitely be back without the $20 timeshare deal grrr!!!! lol

    Amen.

I booked my first trip (When it was BBG) through an agent (Based on no kids, AI, etc) and got nervous about some of the reviews.

Once I got there, I realized that everything they said was blown WAY out of proportion.. While some of the complaints were valid, they were very minor and about 10% of what people claimed. THe staff is great, the other guests are generally very friendly, the food is decent, although not always the best - it's still not bad. I've spent 7 days eating every meal in the buffet.

Trip Advisor seems to be anti-TTR. There are people that work for the clubs and other hotels that go there to promote their own and trash the others.

Take any TA advice with a grain of salt.

p.s. If you get stuck doing the time share tour, it's your own damn fault, because it's easily avoided.

Negitive Trip Reports Are From Ether...

Very hard to please people who couldn't be happy even if managment gave them keys to the place or perhaps employees/friends of employees from other simular resorts who use bad reviews to make thier resorts look more attractive in my opinion.
We had a few tiny red ants around our room as well, big deal, I got more in my house up in Northern Canada. We couldn't find 1 good reason not to return to TTR, if you read those trip reports from people who have more than 1-2 contributions, the average of those who would return is very high.
TTR is loud at times, fun all the time, lots to eat, lots of ladies going topless, some older, some younger, it's a mixed bag but always as fun as you make it.
