We are booked at Grand Miches in Punta Cana over Thanksgiving week. There are some questions as to whether or not the resort will be finished in time. Does anyone have a recommendation for a TTR / Desires type experience in Punta Cana that we can book as a backup resort just in case?
Agreed, the last similar resort closed ages ago on the DR, second vote for Breathless here. We’ve been twice, it’s a really nice resort and definitely has a party vibe (also we did find likeminded people on both occasions, but takes more work than at TTR lol)
It's a very beautiful and large beach area, some seaweed, but not like in Cancun RM. Plenty of beach loungers and cabanas (last time we were there free of charge). There's even a beach bar snack & grill restaurant right on the beach open for lunch
They used to be for the party pool, they do allow it at the beach so I've been told, but never seen any woman topless there. They don't really have themes, but they do like a white party and a disco night, the simple stuff.
NO, NO, SAY IT ISN’T SO. Where did you hear that Miches is off schedule to open on time? I remember when people were saying the same thing when Temptation was being remodeled. It all worked out. Keep your fingers crossed.
I personally wouldn't be surprised, we LOVE the DR and its beautiful people, but they aren't the fastest workers (no offense intended, maybe its us "westerners" that need to learn to slow down more ). That's actually another pointer for Breathless, you need to have time (sometimes a lot if it) and relax when you're ordering drinks or food...With the only exception being they're driving "skills", than they are all freaking fighter jet pilots...They really rock the slow laid-back Caribbean pace at other times, you do get used to it tho lol
Here is the latest photo I have seen. Don't have an exact date on when it was taken, but it is supposed to be recent. They have gotten a lot done, but still have a long ways to go. I am hopeful it will be done on time, but you never know.
